Reforestation

Reforestation

Reforestation

Our reforestation efforts aim to further mitigate adverse effects from weather extremes and help to maintain and build soil in regions sensitive to drought and erosion.

Plants are an essential component of any regenerative plan. Whether in the form of cover crops, reforestation or the management of existing vegetation, plants are the crucial factories within any landscape. Enabling, stimulating and conveying many of the primary processes that co-govern fertility and water availability within a landscape.

And plants belong together. Through realising bio-diverse and multi-layered plantations we aim to inspire and regreen much of our deserted landscapes. Intelligent plant design allows us to leverage mutual support between species. And by considering the progression of the forest ecosystem, our plantations in the form of fruit orchards, hedges or forests are continually developing long past the point that we’re here to witness.

Landscape Rehydration

Landscape Rehydration

Landscape Rehydration

Throughout the property, as well as some of the neighbouring properties, a wide range of water retention elements have been implemented over the past years. They provide practical examples and showcase effective long-term solutions for erosion management, landscape rehydration and the prevention of further degradation and desertification.

Through thorough observation and a collaborative design process these solutions can be applied in any context. We aim to assist landowners and farmers in this process by creating an integrated design that is tailored to the ecological as well as the economical context. Once there is a plan in place, we gladly offer our experience in organising and implementing the planned interventions to effectively regenerate your land and/or farm over a period of time. Through sequenced interventions we aim to adapt the implementation to the time and resources available.

The Soil Lab

The Soil Lab

The Soil Lab

The soil lab is focused on soil regeneration and managing plant nutrition to ensure vigorous plant growth and nutritious produce. With a restored soil food web in place, a healthy crop or forest is the result of the soil’s natural capacity to supply nutrients, prevent disease and regulate growth in times of stress.

The lab conducts microbiome analysis of soil, compost and soil amendments. On the farm we produce BioComplete compost and broad-spectrum soil amendments that can be applied as a soil drench or foliar spray to make the process more efficient. This offers a repeatable quality-controlled process that can be used to regenerate soil and improve plant health for food production, reforestation efforts or general gardening.
